Stitch 'n Pitch 2017

  • Cooley Law School Stadium

Join us for our 2017 Stitch 'n Pitch event to cheer on the Lansing Lugnuts at Cooley Law School Stadium on Thursday, July 13th. Game time is 7:05 pm.  This is a joint event with Sticks & Strings, and we will be a big group of knitters and crocheters stationed behind home plate!  It is Craft Beer night at the stadium, and craft beers are 1/2 off, and there will be a commemorative Lugnuts beer stein giveaway.

Stitch 'n Pitch tickets go on pre-sale June 13th at 10:00 am. $20 per ticket, with a goody bag included. Tickets are limited, so be sure to call early. 517-203-4467

Tickets are currently being printed, and will be available for pick-up before the event. In the case you can't pick-up tickets at the shop, we will be handing out tickets to attendees before the game, in front of the ballpark at 6:30 pm.

Boomerang Bags Sewing Bee

You may have noticed that Woven Art now has Boomerang Bags as an option for how you get your purchases from the shop to your home. If you are interested in learning more about the Boomerang Bags Project in the Greater Lansing Area, we are holding a mini sewing bee and information session at the shop. We will construct some bags from start to finish and answer any questions that you might have about the project.

You don't have to be able to sew to help! We will be cutting, pinning, snipping and ironing, too. If you have a sewing machine, bring it and help with the construction of the bags. If you own and can operate a serger, bring it!

We hope to finish what is needed to meet our end-of-month goal of 50 bags for Allen Farmers Market in Lansing. We don't need many to meet our goal!

Please contact the store to sign up, as we do have space limitations.

There is no charge for this event.

Flex Tee KAL

Join us April 20th from 3-5 pm or 6-8 pm.

We have picked our new Spring Knit-Along, and it is the Flex Tee by Heidi Kirrmaier.  This flattering tee features mitered construction, a broad range of finished sizes from 33 1/2 inches to 54 1/2, inches and is meant to be worn with approximately 5 inches of positive ease. You can easily add length to the tee - but make sure to add some yardage to your totals!

Finished Sizes 33 1/2 (37 3/4, 42, 46, 50 1/2, 54 1/2) require 6 (7, 8, 9, 10, 11) skeins of Kestrel.

The Knit-Along will start on Thursday April 20th, and we will host two sessions on Thursday - a daytime session from 3 pm - 5 pm, and an evening session from 6 - 8 pm. We will finish up our KAL on June 1st! We are happy to measure gauge swatches before the KAL begins to make sure you are on gauge and ready to go on April 20th!
