Crunchy and wooly and everything wonderful. Harrisville Shetland works beautifully for garments, color work or weaving, and softens into a warm, durable wool that will age beautifully with proper care.

This yarn is not made from Shetland Wool - rather, the name 'Shetland' refers to the size of the yarn and not the fiber content. The wool is a blend of an Australian fine wool and a hearty New Zealand wool that gives the yarn its luster.

Harrisville Shetland is spun more tightly on the spinning frames (higher turns per inch) so it is highly durable and will wear better and better every year. Don’t let the crunch fool you. It will soften over time and will become a favorite sweater or accessory.
